Rules in your state
State gym and auto-renewal laws add rights on top of Planet Fitness's own routes. Here is what the law says in six large states.

Planet Fitness cancellation questions
Can I cancel Planet Fitness over the phone?
Phone is not one of the ways Planet Fitness lists. Its customer service page names three: written notice mailed to your home club, a visit to your home club, or the online member portal. For other questions it says to contact your home club.
Can I cancel Planet Fitness in the app?
Planet Fitness does not name the app as a way to cancel. The app uses the same login as planetfitness.com and shows your billing under My Billing Info & Balance, but cancelling online goes through the member portal on the website.
How much notice does Planet Fitness need?
At least 7 days before your next billing date to stop that charge, and at least 7 days before your annual fee date to stop the $49 annual fee. Your dates are in the member portal or on your membership agreement.
Is there a fee to cancel Planet Fitness?
Not on a No Commitment membership: Planet Fitness says you may cancel at any time without paying a fee. If your membership has a minimum term and you leave before it ends, a $58 buyout fee applies.
Where do I send a Planet Fitness cancellation letter?
To your home club, the club where you joined. Planet Fitness says to “send written notification via mail to your home club” and publishes no central cancellation address.
